Film Focus: The Pollinators (2019)

The American agricultural industry relies heavily on pollination by honeybees for much of its crops. Because of dwindling numbers in honeybee populations, almond growers in California have to resort to a dramatic solution: importing the bees by truck from all over the country.

In The Pollinators, director and beekeeper Peter Nelson takes you on a fantastic cinematic journey with an incredible story nobody knows is happening.

From California's almond groves to Maine's blueberry fields with many stops inbetween, this fantastic documentary takes you deep into a part of an industry that is invisble to the general public and shows the vulnerability of certain aspects of our agricultral systems.

If you enjoyed this blog post or learned something new, you can help spread awareness for bees by sharing it on your facebook page.
